  New Moon Ritual Written by Crystal Ravenwolf *Cleanse and sweep circle* *High Priestess will cleanse and bless salt and water* *Everyone meets at door* *One at a time will go before High Priest* ~High Priest says: How would you like to be recognized by The Lord and Ladyin this rite tonight? *Give Magickal Name* *HP gives member candle and they go before HPS* ~High Priestess says: *holding athame to heart of member says* It is better that you should rush upon this blade than enter this circle with fear in your heart. How do you enter? *Memer says: With Perfect Love and Perfect Trust"* *After all have entered and are in circle* ~HPS Says: *ringing bell three times* This rite has begun. Will you call the Quarters? *Each Elemental Witch will call their quarter in the words of their own choosing* ~HPS says: On this night we see the moon as a sliver; a slim promise of all that will be. Like a bow new bent in heaven, she holds all potential. And though the Lady is called by a thousand, thousand names, on this night I know Hecate's touch. Hecate! Hear Me! Join Me! On this night of return from darkness, know me as I know you - for we are one! ~HP says: On this night of the rebirth and all that is new, I call upon the Great Horned One known by many names. But tonight I know Hernes presence. The Great Lord of the Hunt whose blood is the animal strength which will fertilize the earth. Herne! Hear Me! Join Me! Join with me as I join with the spirit of Hecate, for on this I feel your presence and we are one! *HPS calls Brother Raven into circle and casts circle* *HPS gives Charge of the Raven in honor of Brother Raven* ~HPS says: I am the Voice of the Raven Upon the Wind. My harsh cry echoes long upon the Earth and Air: Nothing is forever. Not life, not love, not death, nor loss. Only change is eternal, and only in destruction can the seed of creationform. My wings bear me between Darkness and Light, Land and Sky, the Garden and the Wildwood. I perch upon the Threshold of the Worlds, both flesh and spirit, gifting the Brave Seeker with the Visions and Magic of the Otherworld.To face me is to face your greatest terror, the Shadow of yourself, the unknown and dangerous. In chancing destruction, your fear loses its power to destroy. For only in acceptance of mortality will you learn the Secrets of Immortality as I, the Raven, possess. ~HPS says: On this night we celbrate the power of the waxing moon. The beginning of yet a New fase in our journey and thus we say good-bye to the old and return it to Mother Earth. On this night we say good-bye to the Crone and good-bye to issues we wish her to take with her as she leaves. I ask her to take this disease that has been plaquing my body and mind for so long. Take this illness so that I may be healed. *HPS trows her paper into the cauldron* ~HP says: Behold, my lady; all here wish the Great Crone to take with her something they wish to let go of. ~HPS says: So Mote It Be *Each person one at a time throws paper with what they want taken away into cauldron* *a moment of silence as we all reflect on the fire burning away what we are letting go of.* ~HPS says: Great Dark Mother, Oh Wise Crone, We bid thee Merry Part until we meet again at the end of this fase in our journey and your Wisdom helps us to see the lessons we will have learned by once again showing us the beauty of the shadows. That darkness which once again helps us to see and appreciate the light. *Everyone says: Merry Part Dark Mother until we meet again* ~HPS says: On this night, we welcome back the Maiden and her promise of youth in all of life's issues. I ask her to bring in new health to my body and mind, and new prosperity to my home. *HPS lights her candle from the altar* ~HP says: Behold, my lady; all here wish the Maiden to bring something new into their lives. *HPS gives HP the candle from the altar and says:"So Mote It Be"* *HP goes to each in circle, lighting each of their candles from the one the HPS gave him.* ~HP says: Come, the lady waits to here you. Go forward and whisper to her your wish for we shall soon sing them to the stars! *Each person goes in front of HPS by altar one at a time* ~HPS says: Your wish for the Maiden to bring? *As each person makes a wish for the Maiden to bring into them, they place their candles in the tray of sand. Once they have done so, the HPS ties a green ribbon around their wrist saying: "In return for your gift of love and light to her, the Maiden hears your wish" *Everyone chants: "She changes everything She touches and Everything She touches changes" *All join hands and the chant continues into a cone of power. As it reaches its zenith, release the energy visualizing the the reality of your wishes* ~HPS says: See the healing light built by our pledges settle back gently to the earth, healing her and preparing her for the fertility of Rebirth. *Blessing of any items that need blessed is at this time* *Blessing and passage of Wine and Cakes* (As I am a recovering addict we use juice to symbolize wine) ~HP says: Behold the athame! Time out of mind the athame has been used to focus and direct energy. It is the spark of life that is the male aspect. Now we join it to the chalice. . . ~HPS says: Ancient symbol of woman's life giving womb. . .So ~HPS & HP both say: Now we join the male and female aspects, as we join the blade to the chalice, and with this energy, this wine is blessed. *Pass around circle saying to the person you pass it too: "May you never thirst"* ~HPS says And bless this bread. . . ~HP says: Symbol of earth's bounty ~HPS says: of fertility and the potential fruits of life. . . ~HPS & HP both say: so with the energies of this circle, this bread is blessed. *Pass around circle saying to the person you pass it too: "May you never hunger" **enjoy & converse* ~HPS says: Thank you Beautiful Maiden for being here with us this Night.
